If you haven’t pulled up a stool at Lucky Pint yet, it’s time to fix that. Tucked into Burnside, it’s the only Irish pub in the area — and in just a year and a half, owner Amanda McAuliffe has turned it into the kind of place where there’s always something happening and everybody feels like a regular.
From Bar Manager to Business Owner
Amanda’s path to opening Lucky Pint came straight from years in the industry. After a decade of bartending, her background as a bar manager and her time in restaurant work gave her a front-row seat to what a great local pub should feel like — so in March 2025, she opened Lucky Pint, the only Irish pub in the area. A year and a half later, it’s become exactly what she pictured: a genuine Irish pub with a menu and atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else nearby.
What to Order
We did our due diligence here (purely for research purposes, of course) and can confirm the hype is real. Don’t leave without trying:
- Fish and chips — the crowd favorite, and for good reason
- Shepherd’s pie — hearty, comforting, does exactly what it should
- Dublin burger — a pub classic done right
- Reuben sandwich — a deli favorite with a Lucky Pint twist
Something Happening Every Single Day
This is a pub that knows how to fill a calendar. Here’s what’s on tap all week:
| Day | What’s Happening |
|---|---|
| Monday | Free pool/billiards |
| Tuesday | Open mic night |
| Wednesday | Line dancing |
| Thursday | Karaoke |
| Friday | Live music |
| Saturday | Live music |
| Sunday | “Lazy day” — patio, chill vibes, wind down the weekend |
Sundays get their own special mention. As Amanda puts it, Sunday is Lucky Pint’s lazy day — the doors open at 11, and it’s the perfect low-key way to close out the weekend. Grab a seat on the patio and let the afternoon go by.
Hours
- Monday–Thursday: 3 PM – 1 AM
- Friday–Saturday: 11 AM – 1 AM
- Sunday: Opens at 11 AM
Family-Friendly, Dog-Friendly, Football-Ready
Lucky Pint welcomes families until 10 PM, so it’s an easy stop for dinner with the whole crew. And if you’ve got a four-legged friend, bring them along too — the patio is dog-friendly. With football season kicking off soon, you’ll also find all the games on TV, so it’s a solid spot to catch your team and grab a bite at the same time.
Giving Back to the Community
Lucky Pint is currently collecting book donations for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, and it’s just the latest in a string of community efforts — Amanda has also organized a potato drive around St. Patrick’s Day. Giving back is clearly part of how she runs the place, not an afterthought.
And then there’s the story that says everything about who Amanda is. In September 2025, she donated a kidney to a regular customer named Elijah — someone who, before that, was more or less a stranger to her. It’s an extraordinary thing to do for anyone, let alone someone you mostly knew from serving them a pint. It’s the kind of story that turns “your local bar owner” into “the heart of the community.”
Catch Them Out and About
Lucky Pint won’t just be behind the bar this season — you can catch them at the beer tent at Thunder Over Burnside, and they’re planning a full lineup of live music for Labor Day weekend. If you’ve been meaning to check them out, that’s a perfect excuse.
The Bottom Line
Lucky Pint Irish Pub and Kitchen is what a hometown pub is supposed to be: good food, live entertainment nearly every night of the week, a welcoming spot for families and dogs alike, and an owner whose generosity runs deeper than the community events on the calendar. Stop in, order the fish and chips, and stay for whatever’s happening that night.
