Burnside Tourism Welcomes New Director, Aimee Mills

Burnside Tourism proudly welcomes new Tourism Director Aimee Mills, bringing fresh energy, community pride, and a shared vision for celebrating everything that makes Burnside and Lake Cumberland special.

The City of Burnside is pleased to welcome Aimee Mills as the new Director of Tourism, stepping into the role in March 2026.

Mills brings a strong background in customer service, community connection, and leadership to the position. She recently served as Burnside’s Assistant Tourism Director, beginning earlier this year, before transitioning into the director role following the departure of the former director.

Before joining Burnside Tourism, Mills spent nearly 16 years with Cumberland Security Bank and an additional year and a half with U.S. Bank in Lexington. Her experience in banking has given her a solid foundation in relationship-building, communication, and service — all of which she now brings to her work in promoting Burnside.

A Somerset native with family ties to Burnside, Mills has a personal connection to the community she now represents. That connection is already shaping her approach, with a focus on strengthening local engagement and increasing visibility for Burnside as a destination.

Looking ahead, Mills has expressed a desire to be more present in the community and at events, working closely with residents, businesses, and visitors alike. As part of that effort, she hopes to grow the department in a way that allows for more face-to-face connection and outreach.

Burnside Tourism looks forward to this next chapter under her leadership and the continued growth of the community she proudly serves.
